The time has come to take a look at some of the more recently released altcoins out there. Munne is one of those coins which seems to getting a great deal of attention, so let’s try and figure out why you should be interested in this digital currency!
Introduction
While Bitcoin still remains the number 1 digital currency in the minds of nearly everyone on this planet, that doesn’t mean there is no competition going on behind the scenes. Munne wants dethrone Bitcoin as it has been developed with the best current features. If all goes to plan, MNE will be one of the top 20 altcoins in existence within 2-3 months.
The main focus is creating a visually attractive digital currency, Say what you want about either Bitcoin or most altcoins out there, but they all look bland and rather boring. Even though usability and ease-of-use are the most important features about digital currency, if it isn’t eye pleasing, you might lose people before they even found out what your coin is about.
On the technical side, Munne will receive constant enhancements and support from the developers, and we will take a closer look at the upcoming features in a bit. A professional marketing campaign, which could very well include an actual PR firm, is also planned, in order to increase global awareness and adoption for MNE.
The current features found in Munne include a redesigned wallet with even-stylized icons, a responsive web design, a built-in news feed accessible from the QT client (which does NOT include this fine site just yet), a block explorer, in-wallet market data and ranking. (ranking shows you the position of MNE on the overall list of cryptocurrencies, in the “Cryptocurrencies” tab.)
If you are looking for yet another digital currency trying to bring you the most secure and complete anonymity features, MNE is probably not the coin for you. The developers are not too keen on following that route of development just yet, but that doesn’t mean we will never see anonymity features in upcoming MNE client releases.
Munne has gone through Coins Source’s Trust Index Verification progress, and come out with a 5/7 rating. The sixth point should be added any day now, as the ICO ended successfully, The final point will be granted once MNE has been listed on an exchange for at least 30 days. You can find out more details about the rating here.
In order to fund all plans in regards to development, marketing and long-term support, Munne held an ICO on the Bittrex exchange. As we all know, most altcoins die because of lack of funds/developer interest/uselessness, and Munne wants to change all of that.
Bittrex ICO
During Munne’s ICO on BitTrex, 10 million coins were put up for sale at the price of 5,500 Satoshi each. Not all of the coins were sold unfortunately, as 4,785,393.58250208 MNE have been bought up during this presale. The remaining coins have been destroyed through Proof-of-Burn, spread over two different transactions.
In order to be as transparent as possible, the Munne developers assured us no private key was ever generated for this burner address (Thanks to Earlz’ method, who also verified the procedure). You can find the two transactions below :

Most of you might be wondering what this ICO funds will be used for exactly. 30% of the funds is used to pay out the Munne Founders for their previous work, current and future expenses, and full-time work for the next year.
Bounties make up a small part of the ICO funds, as 5% will be allocated for just that purpose. Another 5% will be used for incidentals. 20% of the ICO funds is dedicated to external salaries (do I sense a job opportunity here?). Last but not least, 40% is allocated for marketing (both for the PR Firm and outside work).
During the ICO phase, the Munne team has been working hard on improving the in-wallet news feed. The promotional video has also been translated into multiple languages, increasing the global outreach. Agreements with external services have also been made, and the first confirmed partners are CoinGateway and CoinPayments.
Future Development
The first step of Munne’s post-ICO plans will be hiring a professional PR firm. So far, we have no idea as to which company the team is looking to hire, but once we receive more information, we will update our readers accordingly.
Over the next few days we will see a small Munne client update which will include a built-in rich list. This feature is scheduled to be released in late October, and as today is the 29th, there aren’t too many days left!
Early November is an exciting period for the Munne community, as Encrypted Messaging (called Munne Chat) will become available. November will also see the release of a MNE introductory video, and mobile wallets, as well as an Alias System at the end of the month.
A Marketplace for Munne has been announced for the month of December, but no details have been provided on whether or not this will be decentralized or not. The Munne University will also see the light of the day near the end of December (more information about that later).
Comunne
Every self-respecting digital currency needs its own place where the community can come together and exchange ideas with the developers in a professional manner. BitcoinTalk is not exactly the place for that as of the last year or so,
Comunne is a public space where MNE community members can speak their mind, ask questions, post news, and access tools related to the coin. One of the features is the Munne paper wallet, which is always a nice tool to have at your disposal.
Munne University
As I mentioned before, there is this beautiful initiative called Munne University, which will launch at the end of December 2014. The idea behind Munne University is to create a learning social platform to promote the usage of not just Munne, but also Bitcoin.
As you would come to expect from an (online) university, there are of course several courses users can participate in. In order to participate in a course, users will have to “enroll” , and all of these courses are made available free of charge.
Next to your standard “courses”, there is also more specific material in the form of ‘lessons”. These lessons will focus on subtopics, which are related to the main topic covered in the courses. In order to finish a course successfully, users will need to complete all lessons tied to that course.
In order to make the lessons not as “boring” as they can be in the real world, Munne University will feature Simulations to help with the understanding of a lesson. When it comes to digital currency in particular, the only way to learn it properly is by practice.
Even though all of these courses will be in English, Munne University will be catering to different languages as well, either by translating the course material or by adding subtitles. This would be a first in the world of digital currency, so I am definitely looking forward to this.
Last but not least, Munne University “students” will be earning levels , achievements and even earn medals as they progress further. Every medal will increase your standing reputation as a member of Munne University.
Munne Project
What would happen if I told you that Munne Project is actually a browser-based mafia-style game? You as a player are able to travel across (currently 4) maps and perform tasks such as bribery, fighting and theft in order to complete quests.
Players can also create their very own crime family, write diaries and much more that is currently still being kept under wraps. Munne will be the in-game currency, and there will also be an in-game casino, which will pay out in MNE.
‘You start as an immigrant to New York in search of the american dream and fulfill your goals. After a while, you’ll quickly discover that the American dream is not for everyone. There are many immigrants in the streets and there is little food and work available, but soon you’ll find a way to get money fast. Start your career to become the head of the Family.“

Exchanges and Services
As of this writing, Munne can be traded at the Bittrex exchange, with other exchanges hopefully following suit in the near future.
We briefly touched upon it before, as Munne has agreements in place with both CoinGateway and CoinPayments. The team is expecting to add many more services to the current list, and we will keep an eye out for any future announcements in this regard.
