Some important changes are coming to NobleCoin in the very near future. Additional developer(s) is something that is being discussed at the moment, plus the fact that NobleCoin will go Proof-of-Stake soon!
The reason to get one or more extra developers on board, is because Rofo, the founder of NobleCoin, is fulfilling many more tasks than just development There’s also promotion, meetings, finishing the NOBL infrastructure, and more.
As it stands right now, the biggest concern for NobleCoin is their Proof-of-Work state. Multipools and Scrypt ASIC’s are entering the scene, and could easily 51% attack the network , which is a constant worry.
Not to mention the fact that both multipools and Scrypt ASIC’s are capable of mining a lot of NobleCoin, which are then immediately dumped on the market. It is time for change, as there is no organic way to “beat” these problems.
Hence, more development knowledge is required in order to take NobleCoin to Proof-of-Stake. I have to applaud Rofo on this part, both for admitting that he doesn’t have the necessary knowledge for the PoS transition, as well as for admitting that despite his best efforts, he couldn’t avert this decision.
I’m not saying that in a way to discredit him in any way, I’m honestly impressed by his overall attitude ever since NobleCoin launched. It takes guts for a developer to admit he can’t do it on his own, but not abandon the project altogether at the same time. Rofo embodies the true developer spirit, and for that, I applaud him.
The idea is to have these changes rolled out in the next two to four weeks, depending on how fast the additional developer(s) can get on board. We will keep an eye out for any further developments on this front.
