I really am a sucker for comeback stories. Luckily for my profession, as Senior Editor of this fine website, Crypto has quite some comeback stories as well. Take a look at PinkCoin for example, which has recently resurfaced in spectacular fashion.
PinkCoin History
PinkCoin started out as a regular pump-and-dump Crypto. As it was to be expected, the coin got abandoned by the original developer pretty soon, and there was a community takeover. Or to be more precise, PinkCoin is now 100% community-run.
Since this takeover, PinkCoin has seen some amazing (and also very much needed!) developments, such as the launch of a block explorer, an updated wallet, anonymous transactions (more on that in a bit), charity fundraiser and a complete rebranding.
PinkCoin Specifications
PinkCoin is a X11 Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake hybrid, but the Proof-of-Work stage has already ended. In total, 380,000,000 PC have been generated, and staking starts after your coins have a minimum age of 8 hours. You will earn 1% stake annually.
The minimum stake age is just 8 hours, with no maximum stake age. This means you can basically keep your coins in your wallet indefinitely, and they will keep staking in a compounding manner. I just really like compounding.
You said something about anonymity….
Did I now? Oh yes, I did indeed! PinkCoin has anonymous features, just because they can. However, these features are still experimental, so use them at your own risk. Anonymous addresses can only be used once, and transactions are limited to 500k PC at a time.
If you send more than 500k, or use the same anonymous address multiple times, the coins will be returned to your wallet. When sending coins from an exchange to your own wallet, and the coins have to get returned, they might not get linked to your exchange wallet, so be careful.

Excellent article! Thank you!
And what timing! Just before we launch the 1.0 RELEASE of http://anon.pinkcoin.info/
There’s no need for the exchanges warning, since users provide their own failsafe addresses, people can just put their exchange deposit address and it’s just as safe as sending to or from anywhere else.
