It has been a while since we last got a development update from SaffronCoin, but I still like the fact their development team isn’t hyping features too much before they are actually released. Some updates in regards to SFRDirect have been posted a few days ago, so let’s take a closer look at how things are going.
After clearing out a persistent bug in the SFRDirect code, the core coding and compilation of SFRDirect can now be labeled as complete. All that is left is to test everything thoroughly, which will be spread out over several phases.
SFRDirect will be directly integrated into the SaffronCoin wallet, which may not be so unique these days. What is unique however, is the fact SaffronCoin will be the first altcoin to have a decentralized exchange built into their QT wallet.
For those of you who haven’t heard of SFRDirect yet, this is SaffronCoin’s financial platform built on top of the CounterParty (XCP) protocol. The currency used by SFRDirect is called concentrated SFR (cSFR), which are obtained by “burning” SFR. This burning process will last for one full month after SFRDirect has been launched.
Some SFRDirect screenshots were provided by the developers, as you can see below :
What I really like is the fact users will be able to chat directly to other users logged into the SFRDirect wallet. Instead of having to open up IRC (either through a client or the web version), you can start talking to other people right away. A neat little feature which will make plenty of people happy.
