As you may recall, we did a StartCOIN article once, which you can find here. Ever since that article, there wasn’t much news regarding this digital currency. Recently, StartCOIN 2.0 was released , so let’s see what has changed.
The reason why StartCOIN 2.0 was launched, is because there were technical difficulties with the original StartCOIN blockchain. These difficulties would lead to transactions being temporarily stuck rather often.
The reason for these issues were migrant multipools, mining pools with a lot of hashpower which raised the difficulty immensely. As a result, the network was unable to mine subsequent blocks due to insufficient power, and thus transactions wouldn’t get verified/confirmed by the network.
Fast forward to about a day ago when StartCOIN was relaunched with improved technology. By using DigiShield, the coin is now more resistant to multipools or big mining pools. A change in algorithm was made as well, as StartCOIN 2.0 now uses the X11 algo.
All your StartCOIN can be exchanged to StartCOIN 2.0 via the StartJOIN website. Users have 30 days maximum to exchange all of their coins, with the cut-off date being August 21st. Make sure to swap your coins before that date!
The StartCOIN 2.0 wallets are available for download for each platform and can be found here. From what we can tell , not all exchanges have upgraded their wallets yet. The only confirmed exchange to have upgraded is C-Cex.
We will keep an eye out for any further updates in regards to StartCOIN 2.0.
