As I had mentioned a few days ago, SummerCoin (X11) would switch over to SummerCoinV2 (X13) in the near future. Well, that day has come as of today, so let’s see at what you need to know about this transition.
First of all, if you happen to be a pool operator, you will need to change the SummerCoin stratum source, to include the donations to the Foundation Address, and the PubKey to avoid orphan blocks. No donations will be taken from mining directly.
Secondly, and this is the part that will concern most of us, the swapping of coins from SummerCoin to SummerCoinV2 will be available between June 5th and June 19th on the BitTrex exchange. Coins will be exchanged at a 1:1 ratio.
There is also a procedure for swapping your coins personally, which will also be available from June 5th onwards. Please read the instructions carefully though. You can find more information about this procedure by clicking here.
The SummerCoinV2 clients have been released as well, for Linux and Windows. As of this writing, there is no Mac OS X wallet available yet, but I’m pretty sure it won’t take too long before that gets compiled.
[UPDATE] The Mac OS X client is now available, and can be found in the BitcoinTalk thread which is linked at the bottom of this article!
For the latest information, and the client downloads, make sure to check out the SummerCoinV2 thread on BitcoinTalk.
