Greece is one of those European countries who only make headlines when their economy is collapsing for the umpteenth time. Several southern European countries, such as Spain and Italy, are in that same boat. Perhaps the time has come for local government officials to look at other options to stabilize and boost their economy? If SuperNET has anything to say about the matter, there is only one solution.
SuperNET – Collaborative Network of Digital Currencies
Most of our readers will have heard of the SuperNET initiative by now. This is a major collaborative effort between multiple digital currencies. Over the past nine months, the team has grown to over 700 members, including multiple digital currency developers and enthusiasts spanning the entire world.
With such a large community actively supporting the project, there are a lot of interesting ideas being tossed around. Not all of those proposals can be translated into a full-fledged project however, but that is only normal. Plus, all of that brainstorming has led to the outlining of a project that might just help stabilize Greece’s economy.
However, before it can come to that, there is a lot of work left to be done. Coinstructors Lee Grant – who is responsible for spearheading this project- is currently visiting Greece to present SuperNET’s solution. If all goes according to plan, Lee Grant will be able to present the idea as an innovative solution and run a test case. The outcome of that test case will then be analyzed to determine the project’s viability.
As you would come to expect from a collaborative digital currency project, Greece’s “solution” will revolve around using blockchain technology. Even if Greece’s government officials would not see SuperNET’s project as a solution, other parties might be interested. In fact, there will be a roundtable meeting in July between Lee Grant and the Asian banking sector to explore various possibilities.
Drachmae – Blockchain Solution For Greece
The way SuperNET’s project – called “Drachmae” will work is by combining the transparency and security of blockchain technology and its core values. However, Drachmae is not just your average project, as its complexity will require the usage of multiple blockchains. SuperNET specialize in this kind of project, so it only makes sense it comes from their group of team members.
In fact, the Drachmae project will be officially presented – behind closed doors, unfortunately – at an event to the Fintech world on July 4th in London. But there is another presentation in a few days from now, on June 9th, during the Crypto workshop at Pay Expo. It is worth mentioning that blockchain development platform NXT is the Pay Expo Crypto Sponsor.
“SuperNET’s sponsorship of Drachmae project enables Coinstructors presence with the NXT Team at this year’s Payexpo and adds to the credibility of Drachmae as a viable option to solve real time issues with blockchain technology. We’re very excited by Drachmae’s potential to demonstrate the way governments and their citizens can take advantage of the unprecedented opportunities provided by blockchain technologies,” – Coinstructors’ Founder Lee Gibson-Grant told the media.
