After a very exciting, busy and incredibly fun day at CoinSummit London 2014, of which you will see articles appear over the coming days, we went down to the after party, organized by SWARM, who are also the cocktail sponsor for the CoinSummit event.
That’s life as a crypto “journalist” for you folks, getting to attend awesome Bitcoin conventions, and getting invited to after parties. Beautiful women, free food and drinks, life is good in London these days if you are in the world of digital currencies.
The main focus of the after party was of course SWARM itself. For those of you who have no idea what SWARM is all about, you might want to read up on a great article written by Serge, which you can find here.
Some interesting announcements were made during the after party as well. Three projects that will be relying on SWARM’s crowdfunding model have been revealed. All of them are interesting and exciting, to say the least!
The three announcement ranged from launching a Bitcoin mining satellite into space (thanks to SpaceBit), a group of ladies who quit their job to make crisps, and the Senior VP of Business Development at Crypto Biz Magazine getting a SWARM tattoo.
All three projects are looking for crowdfunding, and have chosen to partner up with SWARM instead of other traditional platforms, such as Kickstarter or IndieGogo. More details about backing these projects will be unveiled soon.
Speaking of which, there is a special SpaceBIT event planned tomorrow evening. There will be a few speakers, as well as an after party with ample of drinks. For more details, and to reserve your ticket, click here.
Even though I wasn’t completely convinced about the whole SWARM project, after seeing Joel Dietz speak at CoinSummit, and attending the after party, I decided to take the plunge and sent over 0,15 Bitcoin.
Not a very big amount, I know, but that’s exactly what SWARM is about. The idea is to get as many smaller investors as possible, in order to distribute the coins evenly. I am now officially part of SWARM, woohoo!
Do keep in mind that, just because I decided to invest in SWARM, doesn’t mean you have to do so as well. Do your own research and make your own decisions.
