Updated BitBay Client Includes Halo, Smart Contracts & More

The long awaited updated BitBay client has been released today, and it comes packed with interesting features. While most cryptocurrency wallets out there offer a lot of different things, the new BAY client includes multi-signature support and Halo integration. Oh, and the new BitBay website went live as well. So much news, so let’s get to it!

As we mentioned in our previous BitBay article, a client update would be released over the course of this weekend. A few hours ago, the update was released to the public through a BitcoinTalk post. The Limitations of Smart Contracts

BitHalo gets a mention when asked who knows something about smart contracts.

Contracts between parties which are executed automatically are called smart contracts, as the computer decides which party receives the money agreed upon in this contract. While this has its advantages over more traditional means, there are some aspects which can not be executed through smart contracts (yet?).

If you have been paying close attention to the BitcoinTalk forums, and the alternative currencies section more specifically, you may have noticed the cross-thread posting between StealthCoin and ShadowCash. Several articles about this topic have surfaced, yet none of them actually has a clue about what happened. Let’s try to rectify this situation.

The reason behind this “distress” is one of StealthCoin’s upcoming features, based on Chandran signatures. It has been pointed out by respected long-standing members of the Bitcoin and Digital Currency community that Chandran signatures have certain flaws, making them unsuitable for cryptocurrency implementation.  Read more...
