The recently appointed Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commision, Elad Roisman met and discussed a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund or ETF with the relevant cryptocurrency companies.
In a document, it was announced by the SEC that Commissioner Roisman and his counsels met with the representative of blockchain startup SolidX and money manager VanEck, to discuss their application for a SolidX VanEck Bitcoin trust, a Bitcoin ETF. the team also included representatives from the listing exchange CBOE.
Dimitri Nemirovsky and Dan Gallancy from SolidX, Kyle Murray and Laura Morrison from Cboe and Adam Phillips from VanEck were the representatives.

A Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) “will” happen following the appointment of new Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) head Elad Roisman, an anonymous analysis claims.
Following the Senate’s decision to approve Trump pick Roisman to be SEC commissioner, the US regulator now features a senior line-up which should overwhelmingly back a Bitcoin ETF – “at some point.”
Existing commissioner Hester Peirce is a well-known advocate of the ETFs, having gone on record to say she sees “no reason” why an approval should not occur.
When the SEC announced its rejection of the Winklevosses’ latest bitcoin ETF filing, the industry found itself reckoning with a problem on repeat: striving toward the goal of approval, another Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) proposal faced the SEC’s death knell.
At this point in the industry’s development, securing an ETF has become the space’s institutional albatross, the elusivity of which hangs over each successive rejection. The most recent filing was the Winklevosses’ second attempt to list a bitcoin-backed ETF, the first being shot down last year.
Recent remarks from CFTC Commissioner, Rostin Behnam, reveal that US regulators are realizing that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are here to stay because they’ll “become a part of the economic practices of any country, anywhere.”
The CFTC Commissioner gave the remarkable speech on June 4th in New York City at the BFI Summit event titled “Fostering Open, Transparent, Competitive, And Financially Sound Markets.”
Behnam outlined the agency’s stance on the burgeoning Bitcoin and cryptocurrency space, admitting that regulators around the globe are scratching their heads when it comes to how to stop fraud and manipulation that is not uncommon in this nascent industry.
SEC Commissioner, Robert Jackson says that the commission’s number one priority is consumer protection for crypto investors. He made this known in a CNBC interview on April 30. Commissioner Jackson also aired his views on the crypto market, saying it is “full of troubling developments.”
The SEC Commissioner believes that people find it difficult separating viable investments from fraudulent ones in the crypto space.
