Silicon Valley Bank Collapse Hammers Dogecoin Price Down 11% – More Pain For DOGE?

The cryptocurrency market has seen a decline in the value of Dogecoin (DOGE) as massive amounts of fear, uncertainty, and doubt swept across the market after Silicon Valley Bank collapsed on Friday morning as a result of a bank run and a capital crisis precipitated the second-largest failure of a financial institution in the history of the United States.

The collapse of crypto-friendly bank, Silvergate, has also triggered market sell-offs with the market cap of top meme tokens down by nearly 11% in the 24-hour period. The trading volume of DOGE has surged by almost 30%, indicating an impending intense market sell-off.  Read more...

Dogecoin (DOGE) Surges 6% Due To New Tweet From Elon Musk

Elon Musk continues to be one of the biggest factors influencing the Dogecoin price, as the Twitter CEO proved once again today. Musk made an apparent joke by writing, “High time I confessed I let the Doge out.” He also shared an image with an inscription.

In scrawled script, the image reads, “It was me, I let the dogs out.” Within no time, the Dogecoin price responded to Musk’s tweet with a 6.6% increase. Shiba Inu saw a modest price appreciation of 2.5%, likely because Musk was talking about dogs in the plural.

According to a recent research by foreign currency data aggregator Forex Suggest, Dogecoin is currently the third-fastest digital asset in terms of reducing its carbon footprint, having slashed its emissions by 25% in 2022. In 2013, two programmers named Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer created Dogecoin that was based on the underlying code of an existing cryptocurrency.

Their objective was to make a parody on the thriving cryptocurrency industry at the time.

As a result, Dogecoin became the first “meme coin.”

Kabosu, a cherished Shiba Inu dog, was mostly responsible for the meme’s popularity.

Kabosu has her own Instagram account created by her owner, Atsuko Sato. The pooch recently celebrated its 17th birthday on November 2. The social media account’s photo has garnered more than 55,000 likes.
