As Nigerians have been cut off from access to their own money amid a banknote redesign, Bitcoin is the best chance to reinvent the system.

In an interview with Ryan Selkis, founder of Messari Crypto, the CEO of payment company Ripple Brad Garlinghouse talked about XRP and its legal battle with a U.S. regulator. The interview took place at Mainnet 2022, an event organized by the on-chain research company.
In late 2020, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple and Garlinghouse for the alleged offering of an unregistered security. During the interview, Garlinghouse tried to talk about some of the facts that might have led to the lawsuit, while giving his take on the regulator’s approach.
Recently, heavy monsoon rains have caused widespread flooding in the northeastern part of Bangladesh, hitting millions of people. The floods have brought severe damage to Bangladesh: an estimated 7.2 million people have been affected in the northeastern region of the country. Many families have been separated, and some residents, made homeless by the floods, have had to hide in open spaces. Privacy is a basic human right. Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin Core seems to have taken a new direction. No longer are the Bitcoin Cash team focusing on wiping out Bitcoin Core, they now seem to be fighting amongst themselves, this time within two mercenary groups, Bitcoin SV and Bitcoin ABC. It’s a mutiny, a civil war and it could lead to some big changes in the way Bitcoin Cash is managed any maintained.

“Bitcoin Cash stakeholders seemed unified in their goal of boosting the cryptocurrency’s block size parameter in the hopes of attracting more users and enabling more transactions.
On July 1, 2018, Héctor* received 0.5 nano. The transaction was a first for the Venezuelan, and he received it thanks to a donation from one of his fellow countrymen. To some, the roughly $ 1.80 sum in USD may be inconsequential. But to Héctor, whose country’s native currency is worth next to nothing, it was a godsend.
