Loyal readers of CryptoArticles will most likely remember me saying there would be a special Bitcoin event taking place in New York City. Even though we couldn’t attend ourselves, our friends over at BTCGeek did, allowing us to share some details with our readers.
The name of this event is NYC Bitcoin Fair, which took place June 15th. However, this is not a one-time event as I originally thought. There will be a Bitcoin Fair every sunday through October 26th 2014, located inside the Hester Street Fair. Attendance is free and open to the public.
The NYC Bitcoin Fair is an excellent opportunity for local vendors and small businesses to show their wares, as well as to grow their business models. Most of these small businesses ship online and internationally as well, so each and every one of us can support them!
What is important to note, and might come as a small surprise, is the fact that all of these small businesses use BitPay as a Bitcoin payment processor. It does make it easier for the vendor to accept payments, which is a key factor.
The fine folks over at BTCGeek talked to some of these vendors, and it gives us a very unique insight into their decision to work with Bitcoin payments. After reading the entire blog post, the future has never looked brighter for Bitcoin on the small businesses front I’d say.
I fully recommend to check out the entire report on BTCGeek’s website, which you find here :

Thanks again to BTCGeek for attending this event, and being so kind as to share the details with us. I really hope to see these kind of events pop up all over Europe as well, and hopefully Belgium will be on the list too at some point!
