We have met Alex Preukschat on Coinsummit, where he did give a sublime presentation of his upcoming comic. Bitcoincomic.org was featured as a start-up at coinsummit so after the presentation at coinsummit we went in search for Alex Preukschat. So when we were talking a bit about the comic he showed us a great draft of his upcoming comic and we both liked it.
The drawings were excellent and the theme: the search for Satoshi, was a stroke of brilliance from Alex and his team. Right now they are doing a Crowdsale with SWARM at for the English edition https://www.swarm.co/comiccoin make sure you get your copy before they run out.. We were glad he could find a little bit of time in his busy schedule for our short interview.
Serge: Can you tell us a bit about your comic and can you possibly tipping the veil of secrecy a bit? I know some people are extremely curious about the comic.
Alex: “Hi Serge it is so great to hear from you! I know some of your and JP’s avid readers are very interested in the development of our BitcoinComic.org. We believe that money is a fundamental tool of society and that it needs to be understood by as many people as possible to help create a better financial and monetary system. Just parking your money in a bank and “let the bank do with it as it pleases” can be a dangerous attitude. I see money as the following: money is here to serve the people and to serve people in the right way it people need to be as educated as possible about its functions and characteristics.
From there we began thought about how best to educate people that wanted to get involved with Bitcoin and crypto currency. We felt that there is a lot of conjecture about digital currency out there and misinformed mainstream media, that good information and easily accessible needed to being put in the public domain. So we thought why write a book when a comic will do this for everyone? Besides nearly everyone loves comics and it connects everyone, from children to 90 year olds, just like the internet and digital currency.
The idea for our title sprang from events that are still happening today, namely the” search for Satoshi Nakamoto”. The media was searching for the creator of Bitcoin and as such drew the wrong conclusion. We thought: “Hey that is a pretty nice title for our comic so let’s roll with it for now and we did also build our storyline around it”.
Our next step is to release our Spanish version of the comic and continue to raise enough pre-sells to fund our English version with SWARM at https://www.swarm.co/comiccoin. As for raising the necessary funds: Stay tuned at CryptoArticles and other social media because you all can contribute in the crowd funding and get some amazing rewards like cameo appearances in the comic, voting rights for some aspects of the comic and maybe even participation in some revenue of the derivative IP. As well as you know we are working hard to get the English version finished. We opted that our English and Spanish version will appear in November.
Alex, thanks again for doing this interview with us. We like the concept and the comic very much. So there you have it people. Alex Preukschat has spoken and the release date of the comics is drawing near so stay tuned for updates because the crowdfunding campaign is going to start next week! Please write to Alex hello @ bitcoincomic.org if you want to join the campaign.
