Recently, Bitcoin Saigon announced the creation of Ho-Chi-Minh City’s first Bitcoin meetup group. This is an initiative from the Bitcoin community that aims to gather and unite digital currency enthusiasts in Vietnam.
The purpose of the creation of this group is to discuss Bitcoin and crypto related topics, and build Vietnam’s first official Bitcoin community. This initiative is supported by Dominik Weil and Diana Ngo.
Mr. Weil is one of the co-founders of Bitcoin Frankfurt. This is the official Bitcoin community in Germany. He will also offer his experience and knowledge to the young Vietnamese startup Bitcoin Vietnam Co. Ltd. and to the Bitcoin community. This startup, Bitcoin Vietnam Co. Ltd., is Vietnam’s first and leading Bitcoin exchange broker.
Miss. Ngo on the other hand has been working as a digital currency reporter in both French and English languages for over a year, and is currently a journalist for CoinTelegraph.
“As Bitcoin is gaining traction in every country around the world it is only logical that we unite” Miss Ngo and Mr. Weil said to CryptoArticles. “ We need a platform where we can give out objective information about Bitcoin, much like the Belgian Bitcoin Association does in Belgium.” Both of them agreed.
“I think it is really about time that Saigon should get serious about the technology behind digital currency, provided it wants to keep and expand its position as a center of economic activity and innovation in the greater region. Uniting the crypto enthusiasts in Vietnam under one banner is the next logical step if we want to have a serious impact on the future of BTC in Vietnam.
My experiences with the Bitcoin Community in Frankfurt were excellent so far. We had really intelligent and innovative people from various different backgrounds attending the meetups. Some people from meetups are working in the finance & banking sector, are software engineers, entrepreneurs and aspiring students etc. In short an inspiring mix of high-talented personalities.
Job creation is another big thing the digital currency will be generating. We see a lot of adoption happening around the world, hundreds of startups are being founded. These startups are creating thousands of new jobs and receiving millions of dollars of funding.
However the ecosystem in Vietnam itself is currently lagging behind a bit if you look to other countries. Since Saigon has been making excellent progress over the last years to build up a healthy startup environment. By focussing hard on true innovation and transparency Vietnam is creating a fertile ground to build new products around this technology. After the creation of new technologies and companies it is often a challenge to integrate them for the economic benefit of the whole society in people’s daily life.”
Miss. Ngo added: “ Bitcoin Saigon is what Ho-Chi-Minh City needs. Ho-Chi-Minh City’s startup scene is always full of excitement, and people are thrilled by innovation. A lot of Vietnamese people are intrigued about Bitcoin, and it is our role to help and educate people on this innovation.
Along with Vietnamese’ natural appetite for new technologies, locals could consequently benefit from Bitcoin; especially when you consider Vietnam’s dramatic lack of secure online payment infrastructure.”
There is a meetup on the 7th of November of Bitcoin Saigon so we call to all Bitcoin and alt coin enthusiasts and inquisitive people to drop by at their meetup. Below you will find the relevant information.
