GridSeed miners are making some waves in the cryptocurrency community. Not only because they are relatively cheap, but because they are very power efficient.
In case you aren’t in the loop of what GridSeed miners are, of what they can do, you will be shortly briefed over the next paragraphs.
Basically, GridSeed miners are dual miners, which means they can both mine Bitcoin and Litecoin, at the same time.
Even though this might sound unappealing to you, they can also be used to mine Litecoin separately , thus having a higher mining speed.
Still not convinced? Okay, how about they can mine at 330 khash/second at only 7 watts. Yup,SEVEN! Compared to about 150 watt for a GPU mining at the same speed.
They can even be overclocked to a higher speed, but that’s always at your own risk, and at your own responsibility.
You can find GridSeed miners for about 250 USD each, and if you look close enough, you might actually find people selling the miner, usb hub, power supply and Raspberry Pi together for a decent price.
Depending on where these GridSeed miners ship from, you may be responsible for any import fees or VAT, which could make buying these a bit more costly.
Whether or not these dual miners are the future of cryptocurrency mining, remains to be seen. They sure make it very interesting, affordable and easy for newcomers to get involved.
